To Whom it May Concern:
I am writing to report and advise of an horrific incident dating back to July 31, 2023 at Access Dental Care, located at 1234 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence, RI 02904. This dental agency is under the ownership and care of Taraneh Tabatabaie, DMD, and John Manousos, DMD. On July 31, 2023, I was scheduled for an initial appointment with this facility for a routine teeth cleaning and x-ray screens of the full mouth, coupled with an evaluation for the need of additional dental work. Upon review of the routine x-rays, the doctor determined and advised me that I would need a CT scan, which would not be covered by my dental insurance, despite being a medically referred and necessary scan. In fact, despite being medically referred for this scanned, she advised that I would be required to pay $350.00 out of pocket before receiving the requested scan, for which I agreed. The dental assistant who performed the cleaning on July 31, 2023, was rather polite and pleasant and performed the cleaning impeccably. Prior to leaving the office on July 31, 2023, I requested that I be provided with a copy of the CT scan and was advised by the office that they would contact me when it was ready for pick up. Additionally, a second supplemental appointment for a filling and repair of two teeth was scheduled for August 16, 2023. On August 16, 2023, I retuned to the office for my scheduled appointment and was seen by Taraneh Tabatabaie, DMD., who performed the repair of my two bottom teeth. The dentist completed this procedure and released me from care on this date, despite my concerns and complaints being neglected, as I was unable to confirm if the procedure was successful, confirm where there was lack of pain or annoyance, and confirm if the issue had been fixed properly, due to my mouth remaining numb and being unable to feel anything. On August 17, 2023, I was experiencing severe and excruciating pain as a result from the incomplete and flawed job of the repair. I noticed that my mouth was still bothering and rather than alleviating issues, new ones transpired from the ghastly incomplete procedure performed on August 16, 2023 including the lack of care to ensure success upon the completion of the procedure. In fact, my tongue was continuously being cut and shredded by the tooth, which resulted from Taraneh Tabatabaie's, DMD., poorly provided services and neglect of care. I returned to office to request an emergent appointment on August 18, 2023 and to request the issue be looked at and remedied immediately; however, my attempts to be seen immediately were unsuccessful and instead, the office wanted to book me out a week later. Physicians have a "legal duty to provide a certain standard of skill and care to their existing patients, which is created when a physician agrees to treat a patient who has requested his or her services." As of July 31, 2023, I was deemed a patient of Taraneh Tabatabaie, DMD. And on August 18, 2023, I would have been considered an existing patient as of that date. Additionally, "If a physician breaches the duty of care and a patient experiences an injury as a result, the physician may be found guilty of negligence and forced to pay the injured patient or family monetary damages," and particular to my case, I sustained injuries directly correlated to the erroneous procedure performed by Taraneh Tabatabaie, DMD. Therefore, the physician was negligent and breached the duty of care of Access Dental. Furthermore, upon speaking to the receptionist on August 18, 2023, a male staff proceeded to enter the waiting room, proceeded to address me with an attitude and rudely, and advised that the office would not schedule me for at least another week. Additionally, he proceeded to state that if "I did not like it, there are ten other dentists on the same street, and to seek one of them." By failing to provide services and attempting to force me to leave as an existing patient, due to being responsible for additive injuries that I would not have sustained if it was not for Taraneh Tabatabaie's, DMD., incompetence, this agency failed to provide me with the impendent services and their required duty of care by law. The treatment, or lack thereof, was deplorable in nature and should be investigated and addressed immediately, with any proper ramifications applied. I wish to prevent such a malice incident of unethical care to occur in the future to any other patient or client.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mario D.North Providence, RI02Dec 14, 2022

Very happy I picked Access Dental. They are very positive. My teeth were in bad shape and I need major work done. They were very encouraging and very professional. It's quite a process but I am going to be golden when it's done. It's expensive but you have to be willing to invest in yourself. Your worth it.
