What Is Radon?
Radon is a radioactive gas that is colorless, odorless and tasteless. It is formed by the breakdown of uranium, a natural radioactive material found in soil, rock and groundwater. Radon escapes from the ground into the outdoor air. It is diluted to low concentrations and is not a concern. However, radon that enters an enclosed space, such as a home, can sometimes accumulate to high levels. Radon breaks down to form additional radioactive particles called “progeny” that can contaminate the air you breathe.

EPA recommends that you test your home before putting it on the market and, if necessary, lower your radon levels. Save the test results and all information you have about steps that were taken to fix any problems. This could be a positive selling point.

High Radon Levels Can Be Reduced
EPA recommends that you take action to reduce your home’s indoor radon
levels if your radon test result is 4 pCi/L or higher. It is better to correct a radon problem before placing your home on the market because then you have more time to address a radon problem.
A variety of methods can be used to reduce radon in homes. Sealing cracks and other openings in the foundation is a basic part of most approaches to radon reduction. EPA does not recommend the use of sealing alone to limit radon entry. Sealing alone has not been shown to lower radon levels significantly or consistently. In most cases, a system with a vent pipe(s) and fan(s) is used to reduce radon. These “sub-slab depressurization” systems do not require major changes to your home. Similar systems can also be installed in homes with crawl spaces. These systems prevent radon gas from entering the home from below the concrete floor
and from outside the foundation.

Janice Rodriguez2023-08-10Id give 0 but I cant, We got canceled with this company because the time they set our appt was not met and we work and have children so we dont always have free availability and we are not comfortable leaving anyone in our home. We were told the tech was on his was and that if they were able to make it on time great and if not we would get a call back, and noone called us back. we were told it was causing them to much anxiety and that we had to find a different company. So if you dont have flexible schedule, I do not reccomend this company. very fustrating but it was also a great thing because we contacted a different company and it was $150 cheaper than what we were going to be charged. UPDATE: Comment at bottom of this post highly incorrect, I told the lady who answers the phone they gave me a certain time and also confirmed the night before 1030 and were not arriving at that time, I advised the lady who answers the phone that if they were not going to be here by 1130 am I was not going to do it that day because I had to pick up my daughter and I was not leaving anyone in my house while I was not there, Not once did I mention they would need to wait outside for me and not once did I mention any of that to the technician either. Not sure who the owner is getting info from but not a good communication system either.
