Electric vehicle (EV) chargers are typically included with the purchase of an EV and consist of a charging cable that connects the vehicle to a standard 120V outlet. This type of charger is ideal for individuals who only plan to charge their vehicle overnight, as it generally takes 8 to 12 hours to fully charge the vehicle. It is important to note that a standard 120V outlet located in the garage or nearby the parking area of the vehicle is required to use this type of charger.

Electric vehicle (EV) chargers offer faster charging speeds compared to Level 1 chargers, with the ability to charge the vehicle more than twice as quickly. This faster charging capability is made possible by connecting the Level 2 charger to a 240V outlet. Some homes may already have this type of outlet installed in the garage, which can be either three- or four-pronged, depending on the age of the property. If the appropriate outlet is available, the EV owner can purchase a Level 2 charger and simply plug it in. In cases where a 240V outlet is not present, we will install one for a plugin charger or to hardwire a Level 2 charger.

Electric vehicle (EV) chargers are typically not installed in residential settings and are instead found in commercial locations, available for paid or complimentary use. Also known as DC fast chargers, these chargers have the ability to charge an EV battery to 80% in approximately 30 minutes.
Plug-In vs.
Hardwire EV Charger
As previously stated, EV chargers are available in both hardwired and plug-in models. The advantage of a hardwired charger is that it provides a more secure and stable connection, reducing the risk of the unit becoming disconnected or damaged. It is also important to check local regulations, as some areas may require residential Level 2 chargers to be hardwired.
On the other hand, plug-in EV chargers offer convenience and ease of use, allowing drivers to simply plug the charger into a compatible power source and connect it to their vehicle. Level 1 chargers connect to standard 120V outlets, while Level 2 chargers require a 240V outlet.
