Areas of Practice

COUPLES THERAPY

Relationships are an essential part of our general health and well-being. In fact, the health of your relationship is one of the biggest factors in your overall health and longevity. When our relationships are no longer making us happy, it affects all aspects of our lives. Equally, if not more important, is preventing crisis in a relationship by tackling differences early on in relationships. Couples therapy can be a critical component in helping to prevent little problems turning into big problems, fine tuning a struggling relationship, or repairing a damaged one.

INDIVIDUALS IN RELATIONSHIPS

Relationships can be challenging; finding the right one, maintaining one, or getting out of one that is no longer working. Individual therapy can help you work through the issues that have made you feel stuck, or have been causing you distress, and help you move toward a positive and stable relationship.

LIFE TRANSITION THERAPY

We experience a significant amount of change throughout our life. Some life transitions, such as marriages, births, or new jobs, can be positive yet still come with their own unique stressors. Other major life transitions, such as moving, retirement, or entering the “empty nest” phase can also cause a significant amount of stress. If you find yourself experiencing difficulty coping with life transitions, you may find therapy helpful to become better able to adjust to changes.

TRAUMA THERAPY

Trauma therapy is a form of therapy that can help you deal with the emotional response caused by a traumatic event or an ongoing or long-lasting situation. Trauma can include any event or experience that causes emotional or psychological harm, but some common forms of trauma are: Abuse, Abandonment, Bullying, Death of a loved one, Divorce, Illness, Injury, Job loss, Natural disasters, Near death experience, Racism, Sexual assault.

For what it’s worth...it’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you’ve never felt before. I hope you meet people who have a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start over again.
