  Joined Captain Richard and his crew for a trip in January. Bachelor party fishing trip, we we're on the fish all morning and had an absolute blast! Only regret was not packing enough beer to last the whole morning. Great music, brand new tackle and awesome action shots from the day!   I’ve had the pleasure of going on two day trips and a three day trip to Bimini with Family Tradition Sportfishing. Capt. Richard and his crew are incredibly professional and their customer service was second to none. Capt. Richard is very knowledgeable about the Bahamas/ Ft. Lauderdale area and all fish species that he pursues. Not to mention that we caught more fish than we could count. All of this made for the best charter experience I’ve ever had!

  We fished with Capt Richard in a sailfish tournament, Richard and his guys didn't give up until the very end, fought for every fish. The boat is modern fast and clean, the crew had a great attitude and catered to our needs. I have probably charted over 30 trips in the past several years and a Capt / crew can make or break a trip, fish or no fish, they definitively made the trip.  I recall a salmon trip in Michigan with a totally different boat and capt in which we killed the fish but the Capt had a horrible attitude and was rude, I would never use that other person again. I would recommend Capt Richard and would use him again for a charter in the Fort Lauderdale area.

  After a couple dozen deep sea fishing trips out of South Florida over the last couple of decades the trip with Captain Rich and First Mate Eliot was by far the best!   Wow!  I can’t recommend Family Tradition Sport any higher.  They deserve 10 stars!  Captain Richard and Elliott truly know what it takes for a great day of fishing. The boat and equipment were spotless…until we started hauling Sailfish onboard ?.  Everyone who fished (6 of us) caught a Sailfish!   A fantabulous, beautiful day on the Freebird with Captain Richard and First Mate Elliot!! 3 Sailfish (2 more got away) 1 Atlantic Sharp Nose Shark and we were fortunate enough to experience a 10ft Great White circling the boat for a half an hour!! The Captain & Mate were extremely professional, fun & passionate . They didn’t sit down from 8am til 4pm!!

  Richard and the crew are hilarious, there was not a moment whilst aboard “Freebird” when I wasn't laughing. I voyaged out on a 6 hour trip and within 40 minutes we landed my first ever sailfish, an hour later we got two more.

  I’ve lived in FL all my life and never had a better trip. I had special circumstances on this private booking that needed special care for a client. The guys were awesome, and on top we caught all the fish in the sea. Perfect experience. These guys can fish. I would give 6 stars!
