Cladding 1.jpg

Exterior Cladding Options

We offer a vast array of external finishes with the most popular being a sustainably sourced western red cedar. This can be applied to only the elevations on view or all around the building. Alternatively we can offer any finish required from treated timber, non maintenance cement based cladding or a colour through rendered finish.

Doors and Windows

We can offer any configuration of doors and windows such as Bi-fold, French Doors, Sliding doors etc. Manufactured from either UPVC or Aluminum in a variety of colours to suit. All doors and windows we supply come with multi point locking systems meaning your garden building will be just as secure as your home.

Insulation

All of our garden buildings come fully insulated as standard to provide all year round use. We use a rigid insulation in the base walls and roof and can offer additional rockwool style insulation on top of this if sound proofing is required (Generally if the building will be used as a music studio).

Foundations and Base Systems

Our preferred method is a cost effective concrete pile system with galvanised steel supports located at 1200mm spacings which keeps the timber off of the ground allowing for airflow beneath the building. We can also provide more traditional methods such as a concrete slab or strip footings which may be more appropriate for the larger build.

Electrical

As standard we supply two double sockets in a position of your choice, Interior fire rated downlights, exterior soffit downlights and consumer unit. These are certified by a qualified electrician. Hook up to your home electricity supply can be arranged by us or alternatively this can be arranged by the customer. We can also supply an internet connection from your home router via a cat5 or cat6 data cable if required.

New Forest Garden Buildings

Frequently Asked Questions

Q - Will my garden building require planning permission?

A - Our buildings are generally made inline with permitted development requirements meaning you will not have to gain planning permission however if you require a building which falls outside of this we can help assist you with your planning application. More details explaining the criteria required to fit within permitted development can be found using the following link. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/permitted-development-rights-for-householders-technical-guidance

Q - What size garden building can I have?

A - As our garden buildings are fully bespoke we can offer any size or shape you require however planning permission may be required in some circumstances which we are more than happy to assist with.

Q - Can my garden building be used during the colder months?
A - Yes it can! All of our garden buildings come fully insulated as standard with the options for wall mounted electric heaters, Underfloor heating, air conditioning system or wood burning stove to create a comfortable environment.

Q - Can I have electricity supplied to my garden room?

A - Yes, you can either arrange for your own electrician to connect electricity supply or we can instruct one of our local contractors. All of our garden buildings are supplied with interior and exterior lighting, Electrical sockets and certified consumer unit as a standard,  however all items can be added or removed depending on your requirements.

Q - What roofing system is used?

A - Our preferred method is a one piece rubber membrane. There are two main reasons for this, the first being that to keep within permitted development rules in most cases the building can be no more than 2.5mts above the highest part of the adjacent ground. This keeps a low profile for the roof and allows maximum headroom within the building. The second reason is because of the durability. The rubber roof systems we use are guaranteed not to fail through weathering for 20 years. We can also provide all other roofing systems from pitched tile or slate methods to traditional thatched roofing.

TESTIMONIALS

This company is relatively new and on the first meeting they gained my trust and designed and built the most marvellous garden office for me over the course of 4 weeks. They were conscientious, courteous, and stuck to their quote. Design and detailing advice, that was given, and in the final stages they finished the build with the degree of detail that was second to none. I am deeply grateful for the experience and a fabulous result.

Fantastic service by Joe and the team at New Forest Garden Buildings. From start to finish with this project Joe has been approachable and created an amazing high spec office space/storage area that we were looking for. With such a small space to work with, Joe has worked wonders. I would highly recommend.

Sophie - Lyndhurst, Hampshire

It's always a worry using a company you don't know for such a big investment. I have to say that New Forest Garden buildings were absolutely amazing. From the start Joe was straight and honest with me. He helped with my ideas on the build of our garden office and worked out how they could fit within my budget. All through the build Joe kept me informed and checked in on key decisions before proceeding. The quality of work is top class, they really took pride in their work down to the small details, i can honesty say 100% that the finish was far better than i expected. They kept the area clean and were respectful to us all through the build. I have no hesitation in recommending this company and if I ever need another build they would be the company I would call.

I used New Forest Garden Building to build up bespoke garden office in my back garden. Joe who owns the business gave me quotation quickly and able to finish on time. He is highly skilled carpenter/builder which he finished my office in very high standard. Our office specs are fully insulated walls, floor and ceeling;
EPDM flat roof, cedar cladding, powered and plastered, painted, laminate floored. And wood burner installed by Joe.

I will strongly recommend him if you are looking for to build garden office.

Here is why you should use Joe:

1. He will give you accurate and detailed quotation.
2. He is very hard worker and detailed oriented. He will consider every detail before you think off.
3. His contractors (painter, plasterer etc) are really good.
4. He will everytime listen to you and will achive what you like.

I also used Joe to replace my fences and he did replaced my fences in high standard too.

I will be using him for other projects.

I am very pleased with your work Joe.

Huseyin - Chandlers Ford

Joe built a 5x3 garden office for us. As a true craftsman, he takes tremendous pride in his work. He and his team did an amazing job and we are really pleased with the end result. The red cedar cladding looks great. The office is well insulated and the floor, electrics, plaster, painting etc. all look very sharp. Joe also did some decking for us, which looks great, and he even threw in a couple of extra jobs for us for free (repairing some fencing and making a soakaway). I can highly recommend Joe and New Forest Garden Buildings.
