Why Ozonated Cleaning?

Our Odor Removal and Disinfection Products and Services utilize Ozone, Atomic Copper, and Hydroxyl. Ozone is a gas composed of three Oxygen atoms. Atomic Copper is the elemental form of Copper at the atomic level. Hydroxyl is a radical formed when a single Hydrogen atom pairs with a single Oxygen atom. These substances, Ozone, Atomic Copper, and Hydroxyl, have been proven to be safe, effective, and versatile as antimicrobial agents. They have been successfully employed in various applications, including wastewater treatment, disinfection in healthcare facilities, and sanitization of the NASA Space Shuttle Columbia.

Ozone

  • Ozone is oxygen at is most active state. Ozone works to break down organic substances at the molecular level.  Ozone attacks these molecules and breaks them down into harmless substances like carbon dioxide, oxygen and trace amounts of water.
  • There are no harmful residuals that need to be removed after ozonation because ozone decomposes rapidly.
  • Ozone has been approved by the FDA as a safe antimicrobial agent since 2001 for use of treatment, storage and processing of food.

Hydroxyl

  • Hydroxyl Radicals are lethal to all living organisms except for humans, plants, and animals which have evolved symbiotically with it. This isn’t the case for viruses, bacteria, fungi, and other micro-organisms.
  • Hydroxyl Radicals are produced when UV light interacts with water vapor and oxygen.

Atomic Copper

  • The Atomic Copper formula used by Ozonated Cleaning is EPA registered and approved.
  • The United States Environmental Protection Agency and National Sanitation Foundation approve and certify Copper for use in drinking water sanitation and bacteria control.
  • Copper is safe for humans and isn’t a heavy metal.
