In 1989 the charity established a number of long-term development programmes, sending tents, blankets, food, and medicines to some of the16 million people affected by famines in Ethiopia, Angola, Mozambique, and Sudan.
Today, Muslim Aid is one the longest established, largest, and most influential of Muslim charities in the UK. With 11 country offices across the developing world, it is an international not for profit organisation that focuses on supporting communities that are affected by disasters, conflict and poverty, regardless of social, religious or ethnic background.
